Marit J van Elsas
Dr Marit van Elsas is a post-doctoral scientist with a particular interest in the myeloid-T cell axis in cancer immunotherapy. She finished her PhD at the Leiden University Medical Centre in Leiden, The Netherlands in 2024, during which she studied how different macrophage subsets in the tumour microenvironment dictate the response to T-cell based immunotherapies. In June 2024 she joined the Peter Mac as a post-doctoral researcher in the lab of Phil Darcy, where she is studying how to improve the efficacy of CAR T cell therapy for solid cancers, by improving their function and tumour infiltration.
